Abstract A husband and wife team, one a minister, the other a doctor, writes about their experience as parents of a girl with multiple disabilities caused by meningitis. They describe the ways they have received support and reflect on lessons learned from their journey, including understandings of suffering, seeing gifts in people with disabilities, and celebrating small things in life.
